My recent suceess in local competitions include;
1st place in the Uttoxeter Ploughing and Hedge Laying match in the Novice class,
1st place for the 12 month regrowth prize at the North West & Cheshire Ploughing match,
2nd place at the Eccleshall Ploughing match,
3rd place at the North West & Cheshire Ploughing match.
I am looking forward to competing at the National Hedge Laying Championships at the end of October.
I have been laying hedges for over ten years and enjoy working outdoors. Either as a field boundary or a garden hedge I lay hedges using the Cheshire style of hedge laying.
I am a member of the National Hedge Laying Society.
I also really enjoy teaching hedge laying to small groups or one to one with landowners.
Hedges are a rich tapestry across our countryside. Wildlife use them like motorways to explore their neighbourhood. My aim is to plant 5 miles of new native hedges by 2025. I have planted 3.9 miles so far.
The most popular type of hedge from my clients is a native mixed hedge, 90-120cm tall. This negates the use of plastic rabbit guards and matures a lot sooner than planting whips (plants 40-60cm tall).
At Cheshire Hedges we have recently created a number of fabulous garden structures. These can be viewed in the photo gallery.
We have made the bespoke structures from thermowood which gives it a distinct look and smell once you sit inside. We design the deck and pavilion to fit the space in your garden and each structure is unique.
