My recent success in 2025 hedge laying matches are;

1st place at the Uttoxeter & District Ploughing and Hedgelaying Match, Intermediate Class.
1st place at the Burton & District Ploughing and Hedgelaing Match, Novice Class.
3rd place at the 46th National Hedgelaing Championship, Cheshire Class.
I have been laying hedges for over 15 years and enjoy working outdoors. Either as a field boundary or a garden hedge I lay hedges using the Cheshire style of hedge laying.
I am a member of the National Hedge Laying Society.
I also really enjoy teaching hedge laying to small groups or one to one with landowners.
Hedges are a rich tapestry across our countryside. Wildlife use them like motorways to explore their neighbourhood. My aim is to plant 7 miles of new native hedges by 2026. I have planted 4.8 miles so far.
The most popular type of hedge for my clients is a mixed native hedge, 90-120cm tall. This negates the use of plastic rabbit guards and matures a lot sooner than planting whips (plants 40-60cm tall).
